Fans, we have got a good news for you. Finally, Netflix has announced & confirmed the renewal of After Life for a second season. The brand new comedy series of Ricky Gervais is going to return soon. It revolves around a man who says and does whatever he pleases after the death of his wife. (Check: True Detective season 4.)
The comedian has said that he has already started working on it. He wants to do it as he has fallen in love with the characters. According to him, he has got an idea of where it can go, and season 2 is always better if and because the writer knows the actors. Until it arrives, we have everything about After Life second season.

We can expect the major cast returning and reprising their roles. If it happens, it means the return of the following actors
- Gervais as Tony,
- Kerray Godliman as his dead wife Lisa (in flashbacks),
- Tom Basden as Tony’s boss and brother-in-law Matt,
- Tony Way as Lenny, Tony’s best made and colleague,
- Diane Morgan as Kath, the head of advertising at the Gazette,
- Mandeep Dhillon as Sandy, a journo-in-training,
- Ashley Jensen as Tony’s dad’s nurse Emma,
- David Bradley as Tony’s Dad,
- Paul Kaye as the psychiatrist,
- Roisin Conaty as local prostitute Daphne, and
- Penelope Wilton as widow Anne.
After the death of Julian, Tim Plester who was portraying him, won’t be seen more, unless the makers/showrunners want to incorporate more of the flashbacks showing him. Besides the above names, there will be news names for sure.
Netflix’s After Life Season 2 Release Date: When’s it coming back?
Well, it seems we and you have the same guess. The first season premiered in March 2019, and the season 2 of After Life is due in 2020. Netflix hasn’t been more specific. It seems that we will get to see new episodes of the comedy series sometime in March, next year.

Gervais has given a little clue to what can we expect in the sequel. It takes place during his final graveside heart-to-heart with Ann. Tonny will continue to say and do what he want and punishing the people who deserve it in the world. He will use his superpower for good.
