Salman and Katrina’s new film Bharat has started on a good note on its 2nd day (Thursday) at the box office. On its 1st day (Wednesday) of release, Bharat movie made a collection of Rs 41.50 cr and became the second biggest Bollywood opener of all time. As per the early trends on Thursday, it looks like Salman Khan’s movie Bharat has taken a slow start compared to Wednesday’s numbers. It’s kind of expected as it got a massive opening on its first day at worldwide BO. But, it is expected to pick up the pace in the later part of the day.
Yesterday, it was the Eid ul-Fitr holiday, so it was meant to be a big day for the business. But, today is just a normal working day, although a small part of the society may still be celebrating the festival. As a result, the morning shows occupancy for today turned out to be just 25-30% on an average.
On Wednesday, it was 65% on an average for the whole day. The regions like Delhi-NCR, UP and East Punjab has witnessed a massive drop in the occupancy. It is being expected to lead the best in Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, and Bangalore areas. The single screens appear to be fairing well than multiplexes.
The drop is kinda expected, but it should hold better. Today, it’s a working day, Eid period is still going on though. It should mean a good boost for Bharat collection in the Muslim dominated areas. Speaking of the history, Sultan had earned more on its 2nd day, Rs 37.20 cr after minting Rs 36.54 cr on opening.
However, it doesn’t look like that Bharat would be able to touch those collection figures. Coming to the noon shows, the film witnessed a good gain in the occupancy. The family audience started to come out to watch the movie in the multiplexes. It means a good sign for the makers too.
Despite starting slow, Bharat is making some ground now. As of now, it is going for around Rs 25 cr for the whole day, but it may also touch the mark of Rs 30 crores if the occupancy continues to increase in the evening and night shows.
UPDATE: The film is going super strong in the mass circuits. In the afternoon shows, the occupancy reached to 50%, and by night, it has already gone to over 70%.

It still seems early to go for a close figure. But, it is absolutely going to earn more than Rs 25 crores today. The collection of Bharat will depend on the film’s performance for the rest of the day. It has already became the biggest opener for Salman ever in his Bollywood career.
