Darbar Box Office Collection: The latest film of Rajinikanth is faring well at the both domestic and overseas markets. It is competing against many big releases like Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru, Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak. In the first 10 days, Darbar has made a collection of over Rs 150 cr at the worldwide box office. It will soon cross the mark of Rs 200 crores globally. It has been witnessing a spectacular run in the United States. In the first 9 days, it made Rs 10.84 cr ($1.525 million) in the US alone.

However, it still fell behind competitors Sarileru Neekevvaru (Rs 13.54 cr or $1.903 million) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (Rs 15.18 cr or $2.135 million). Darbar is a multi-lingual film released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. It was released on 650 screens in the home state only. On its first day, Darbar collected Rs 18 cr in Tamil Nadu alone.

Besides the box office collection of Darbar after its release, it is estimated that film has already made Rs 220 crores from its pre-release business that includes the sale of its worldwide theatrical rights. It now stands at number 2 in the list of biggest Kollywood pre-release, after Rajinikanth’s 2.0.

In this directorial of AR Murugadoss, Rajinikanth is seen in two roles – one of a cop and another of a social activist. Besides the lead actor, the film also stars Nayanthara, Suneil Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas, and Yogi Babu in important roles. It has earned Rs 12.69 crores in Chennai in 10 days.

Owing to a massive fan following in Malaysia and Singapore, Rajinikanth’s film Darbar comfortably sits in the top 10 for the weekend. In Australia, it has minted over Rs 23 crores. Darbar follows the story of Aaditya Arunasalam, who is looking to avenge the death of his daughter and put an end to the drug menace in Mumbai.
