Dream Girl starring Ayushmann Khurrana witnessed an amazing opening collection at the box office. It became the highest opener in Ayushmann’s career by collecting Rs 10.05 crores. Earlier, it was the National Award winning film Andhadhun. (Check: Chhichhore Collection.)
Not just that, it also did open better than many hits films of the year (2019) such as Uri: The Surgical Strike which collected Rs 8.02 crores), Luka Chuppi (Rs 8.01 cr), and Chhichhore (Rs 7.32 cr). The film got this amazing collection as its trailer had become viral in just a few moments after its release.
The film revolves around a boy who can speak in a girl’s voice, and takes up a job in a call center, due to poor financial condition. Due to its witty dialogues, funny moments, and not to forget Ayushmann’s performance, the film got its buzz among the audiences. So, it was expected to happen.

As per the film trade analyst Girish Johar, Ayushmann is seeing growth in his acting career. Along with picking up the right stories, he is also doing different kind of storytelling. According to him, the best part of the film is that it tells the story in a very clean, quirky, comical way in which an entire family can watch together.
The trailer was absolutely loved by the audience to the fullest. As a result, the expectations rose to a new level. After seeing an amazing opening, it is being expected that the movie will never seen before business being an Ayushmann Khurrana’s film. It can even touch the mark of Rs 40 crores in the first weekend.
Nushrat Bharucha is another luck for the film. She is a new young talent in the industry. The films have been successful at the box office which she has starred in. If Dream Girl becomes an hit, Ayushmann will become the actor with six consecutive HIT films to his name. The first five are Bareily Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Article 15, and Andhadhun.
Speaking of its 2nd Day, Dream Girl started on a strong and better note compared to Friday. It seems that a huge day is one the cards now. As per the morning shows report, an average occupancy of around 45-50% was reported. It was 25% on Friday, so the film is likely to do two times the business today.
