Disney released the trailer on February 12, 2019. You can watch it right here/below. The Wreck-It Ralph directors had previously played the prank on fans around the teaser. It has created a animation record. This trailer was watched over 11 million times in the first 24 hours. As of writing this, it has already crossed the mark of 17 million views.
What is the Frozen 2 release date?
The Frozen 2 film will release on November 22, 2019, in both the UK and the US. The premiere date was preponed. Earlier, Disney had scheduled it to arrive on November 22. Whatever the reason may have been behind it, it is definitely a good news for the Frozen fans who have been eagerly waiting for the sequel.
The shoot for this animated movie started in September 2017. Kristoff and Kristen Bell teased then, that it won’t just be a typical sequel, rather it will be a story that needs to be told. During this waiting period, we have seen two short films from within the Frozen universe: Frozen Fever and Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
Frozen 2 plot and The new Elsa
Even after seeing the first trailer of the upcoming sequel to the animated film, we still don’t know much about it. The plot for the film is still under the wraps. It is sure that we are going to see Anna, Elsa, and friends going on an adventure.
Co-directors Buck and Lee have once again teamed up with producer Peter Del Vecho and Hidden Figures writer Allison Schroeder – who is also the scriptwriter for the sequel.
According to the co-director Chris Buck, the lives of the series’ stars Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf are going to be evolved. It seems that the biggest change would come in the life of Elsa.
There is not much official word out on the story yet. But, we do know that the filmmakers thought about the Frozen 2 ending first and then, started working back from that.
Star Kristen Bell has said that Frozen 2’s story is great as the team has worked on it taking sufficient time. According to Bell, the story contains the important aspects that need telling, and it has been made in an engaging way.
There have been rumors about everything, be it a love story for Olaf to a story about how Anna and Elsa aren’t really biological sisters and how this affects their relationship.
In the past, some fans have asked the makers for Elsa to get a girlfriend in Frozen 2. The co-director Jennifer Lee responded to those requests during the promotion of Disney feature A Wrinkle in Time.
Tony award winner Idina Menzel is also excited about giving her Elsa a girlfriend. She voices Elsa in the film.
Frozen 2 cast: Who (characters) are coming back?
The main cast of Frozen will return for the sequel to reprise their roles/characters. Bell, Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad are returning. We don’t know yet if Santino Fontana will bring back wicked Prince Hans. Though officially not confirmed yet, Evan Rached Wood and Sterling K. Brown have been linked with the production.
Let’s see if Wood would be playing Elsa’s girlfriend? There have been rumors about it after the appearance of a new female character with powers in the trailer.
Frozen 2 soundtrack
It’s less than a year from the release of Frozen 2, the highly anticipated animated film of 2019. It will come with at least four new songs.
Oscar winning duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez have written the songs for it. It will also include an evolution of ‘Let It Go’. Christophe Beck will compose its score.
As Frozen had memorable tunes such as Do You Want To Build A Snowman? and For the First Time in Forever, you can be sure of one thing that the second offering from Disney will definitely be enchanting.
