Good Newwz is enjoying a superb collection spree at the box office. In the first 5 days, Akshay Kumar starrer Good News has collected Rs 94 crores (approx). It is giving immense competition to Salman Khan’s latest Bollywood movie Dabangg 3. Besides Akshay, it also stars Kiara Advani, Kareena Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. Akshay’s Good Newz witnessed a jump of around 25% due to New Year’s eve, and thus remained successful in collecting Rs 16 cr on Tuesday. The film started its run at the BO by minting Rs 17.50 cr on opening Friday, followed by Rs 21.50 on Saturday, Rs 26 cr on Sunday, and Rs 13 crores on Monday.

Within the first four days, the Good Newwz flick collected over Rs 50 cr. It has already emerged a hit. Including Wednesday collection of Good Newz, the film has entered the coveted club of Rs 100 cr. It will again earn good on New Year’s day (1st January) as most of the people will be enjoying a holiday.

The first week collection of Good News should be in reach of Rs 125 crores. Thursday and Friday collections will be important as it will define what will be the lifetime collection of Good Newwz. If it becomes successful in leverging the holiday factor, the film may even become a super-hit.

It has become the fourth hit film of the year for Akshay Kumar. Khildaki Kumar has done this second time. The first time was in 1995 when his films like Yeh Dillagi and Elaan among others became hit. Not just hits but his films have grossed a big time this year. His latest movie has been receiving mostly good reviews.

This directorial venture of Raj Mehta has been co-produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Akshay Kumar, Apoorva Mehta, Shashank Khaitan, and Aruna Bhatia.

Speaking of its 6th day, Good Newwz has started on a good note. As far as morning occupancy is concerned, it has registered 35% occupancy on an average in the morning shows. The numbers are not much far behind those of Sunday. It was 40% on Sunday (3rd day).

The film is truly rocking the Indian BO. At some places, the figures are higher than Sunday’s. It’s a fantastic news for the makers. In the afternoon and evening shows, the occupancy rate reached upto 70%.

If it manages to show a big jump, then it may race past Rs 25 crores. However, it will still try to challenge the Sunday figures.
