The Bollywood movie Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles is still faring well at the box office. In the first 11 days of its release, the film has made a collection of Rs 118.35 crores. The musical drama was released on Valentine’s Day 2019, i.e., February 14, Thursday. As per the trade expert Taran Adarsh, Gully Boy’s collections will now mostly depend on the metro cities. There are huge expectations that it will cross the marks of Rs 125 cr in the coming days. In its 2nd week, it earned Rs 3.90 cr (Friday), followed by Rs 7.05 cr on Saturday, and Rs 7.10 crores on Sunday.
Speaking of its opening day, Gully Boy collected Rs 19.40 crores on its 1st day (Thursday). The film was able to mint significant amount of money in the extended-first-four-day weekend. Later on, it had to struggle a bit in the weekdays. But, it seemed to have regained its position in the second weekend.
It looks like Gully Boy will be able to make a respectable total. The film’s story has been inspired by the lives of Mumbai based rapper Divine and Naezy. An underdog rapper Murad has big dreams, and he dares to achieve them going against everything. Finally, he becomes a well-known rapper.
Zoya Akhtar has directed and co-written Gully Boy. It also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz, and Vijay Varma in vital roles. Upon its release, the movie was critically acclaimed by the film critics. It witnessed a positive word of mouth among the audiences.
Speaking of its 12th day, Gully Boy will see a significant drop in the occupancy of its 2nd Monday as today is a regular working day. It would make a collection of Rs 3 crores at the box office.
Coming to its overseas collections, Gully Boy has made a total of $8.4 mn [₹ 59.52 cr] with the majority of the amount coming from USA+Canada: $ 4.216 mn.
