According to the trade analysts, the movie should witness substantial growth on its 3rd and 4th day, i.e., in its 1st weekend.
The film directed by Zoya Akhtar is the first film in which Ranveer and Alia are sharing the on-screen space together. With its release, the Gully Boy got the advantage of the Valentine week 2019. The business will definitely increase over the first weekend as it has received good reviews and positive word of mouth.
As per the expectations, Gully Boy’s 1st weekend collections should reach somewhere around Rs 80 crores. The story is based on an aspiring rapper Murad played by Ranveer, who becomes a well-known rapper after winning a rap contest and a cash prize. The flick is inspired by the lives of rapper Divine and Naezy.
Alia plays the role of Ranveer’s hot headed girlfriend who wants to become a surgeon. She also has her share of struggles. Ranveer’s last film Simmba became the highest grosser of 2018 by collecting over Rs 240 crore at the domestic box office. Alia’s Raazi collected Rs 123 crore at the home turf.
