Independence Day 2019 is going to be celebrated on August 15. This year, it’s going to be 73rd Indian Independence Day and falls on Thursday. This day is regarded as the national holiday in the country. So, all the government offices, educational institutions, and some of the private institutions also observe full day holiday. Independence Day holds great importance in the history of India. It reminds us the sacrifices of all the great Indian freedom fighters. They sacrificed their lives so that their upcoming generations (as in “we”) can live and breathe in the independent country. They did all for our country’s future.
In the last 72 years of independence, our nation, India has made progress in every field, be it education or its military and space programmes or medical or anything else. India got freedom from the British rule on August 15, 1947, but the country got divided into two parts – India and Pakistan.
