Jabariya Jodi starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra has finally hit the silver screen after being postponed a few times. So, we are here to discuss its opening/1st day collection at the box office. Directed by Prashant Singh, the movie deals with the abduction of grooms prevalent in Bihar as the girl’s family forces the boy into marriage.
Sidharth and Parineeti starrer is the only Bollywood release this week. However, it will face competition from other films like Super 30. But, it is being expected that it will take a lead at the BO in India. Previous week’s releases are almost going to end their run. (Check: Super 30 Collection.)
As a result, Jabariya Jodi will become the first preference of the movie-watches. This week would act a fresh opening window for the latest film. The newest Bollywood film seems like a light comedy entertainer. However, there is a positive inquisitiveness about the flick.
Previous films like The Lion King, Kabir Singh, Super 30, and Article 15 have seemingly done their business. If and only if Jabariya Jodi turns out to be extremely bad, then only the earlier movies would survive and surpass it. But, it shouldn’t happen so easily. But, let’s see what actually happens.
As of now, all the above mentioned films like Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, and Kangana Ranaut’s Judgementall Hai Kya have been running at the box office. There is a pretty much good buzz around the romantic comedy, and all the credit goes to its music album and star cast.
Sidharth and Parineeti have shared the screen space together in Hasee Toh Phasee which saw a decent box office collection. Now, they are coming back together after a long time gap. Sidharth seems to be doing something different with this film compared to the earlier one.
So far, Sidharth has played only suave and charismatic characters, but this time, he will be playing a massy character with a desi dialect. Let’s see how it unfolds and goes in the future. The buzz around is pretty much fine as it has been backed by Ekta Kapoor and got good music and songs.
The trade analysts have predicted that it should be able to earn Rs 3-4 crore on its first day of release with ease. But, it will kinda slow down post Independence Day as films like Mission Mangal and Batla House will become the frontrunners. However, if Jabariya Jodi proves to be good, then it will have its own audience.
