The season 17 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians is going to release this year, probably. The KUWTK aired its season 16 finale on June 30, 2019, Sunday. It was one of the most dramatic episode of the show so far. It featured the cheating chronicle scandal of Jordayn and Tristan that broke Khloe apart. (Check: One Piece Episode 891.)
Now, the important information to get to know is when does the KUWTK season 17 going to air? It’s because right after the last installment’s finale aired, it sparked the desire of a new one. Everybody wants to get more of the show, to know more about the Kardashians. Here’s everything related to it.
Fans are certainly eager to be able to watch more. However, there has been no official word about the premiere of S17, as of now. Even, it’s not yet known if it has even been renewed or not. The show’s contract with the E! was for three years, and that has ended this year. Now, the Kardashian family has to re-negotiate with the network for future seasons, if any.
If you have been a fan, then you should note that the show doesn’t follow any release pattern. The season 16 premiered in March, Season 15 in August, season 14 in September. So, we don’t have a clear/definite answer about the show’s future. But, we do know that no one from the KUWTK cast has indicated to opt out in near future.
In fact, it seems to be the opposite. Because, it is being expected to feature/introduce a whole new Kardashian-Jenner clan after Mason Disick filmed his first confession in season 16. Now, the important that arises is whether E! is willing to accept or match their terms. The previous contract was between $100 to $150 million as per the rumors.
The season 15 witnessed a steep decline in the viewership which looked like a flagging interest in the series. Though the season 16 numbers went again up, E! hasn’t made any official announcement yet. So, it would be interesting to know how they are planning to release the future installments, if planned any.
In October 2017, an E! spokesperson talked about the show’s future. The person said that the hit Kardashians show has been renewed through 2020. At the time, E! said that they are proud of their partnership with the Kardashians, and they will remain an important family to them.
In April 2019, a report came suggesting that Kris Jenner is already in a tight negotiation with the network over a new contract for the upcoming installments. The source claimed that Kris was trying to broker a deal for their show until season 21. It included Jenner’s wish to completely control the entire production.
Given that they have had a very long relationship with the network. So, it’s likely that Jenner can get the show on her happy terms. Given the success of season 16, she stands in a better position to bargain.
The viewership numbers for the last season confirmed that it has went up from the previous one year. The season 15 finale registered a little than 900,000 viewers, that was down from the season’s premiere which got 1.3 million viewers. However, season 16 premiere registered the same numbers.
The season 16 two-part finale’s numbers aren’t made public yet, but the Jordyn Woods scandal means to bring a higher viewership than last year’s finale.
