KGF Chapter has entered into its 13th day. The Yash starrer Kannada film has been running very well at the box office. It has set new milestones for the South Indian cinema after SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali series and Shankar’s 2.0. The brilliant performance has put the movie on the global map yet again. Prashanth Neel directorial revolves around the life of Rocky, a gangster who capture Kolar Gold Fields. (check: Simmba 6th day collection.)
Released on December 21, the film is experiencing a successful run at the worldwide BO. As per the latest reports, KGF has already grossed Rs 154 crores at the worldwide scale in the first 12 days at being in business. These are not some ordinary numbers. This is a staggering figure for a Kannada movie. Getting a positive word of mouth, the flick is going to mint more money in the days to come.
Besides Karnataka, the drama has got good responses from both regions – Kerala and Hyderabad. In Kerala only, it has collected Rs 1.65 cr in the first 10 days of its theatrical run. There have been many releases in the Telugu industry, but KGF has still managed to have an upper hand over them in the last two weeks. That’s why it has raked in more moolah.
On January 1, K.G.F collected Rs 31 lakhs in Hyderabad beating the likes of Simmba, Antariksham 9000 KMPH, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, and Husharu. KGF has not only received good reviews from the critics but also positive word of mouth from the audiences around the globe. Moreover, its Hindi version was well received. But, its box office collection witnessed a dip after Ranveer’s Simmba hit the screens.
The Chapter 2 of KGF will come in future. As per the director, the next (or maybe the last) part of the film series will release sometime in 2019. Its Hindi version has collected more than Rs 32 crores till date.
