Kangana Ranaut directorial and starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has maintained a good hold at the box office. In the first six days, its collection has reached to a total of Rs 56.90 cr. The film opened with Rs 8.75 cr and collected Rs. 4.50 cr on 6th day (Wednesday), i.e., yesterday. Now, it is facing stiff competition from Uri and Thackeray.

The movie got its major increase in the collections on the Republic Day national holiday. On Saturday, it earned Rs 18.10 cr followed by Rs 15.70 cr on Sunday, Rs 5.10 cr on Monday, and Rs 4.75 cr on Tuesday. The flick has been released in three languages simultaneously – Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Its Hindi version has maintained a good hold while its over versions have failed to make an impact at the box office. Not only in India, the film is rocking the international/overseas markets too. So far, it has minted more than $2 million (Rs 14.60 cr approx). The USA box office contributed the major amount in its business.

Made on a big budget of over 100 cr, Manikarnika collected Rs 50 in the first five days only. Now, it’s facing a cut-throat competition from the previous release Uri: The Surgical Strike which stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. It has denied to stop soon. In the first 21 days, it has made over Rs 170 cr, running now in its 3rd week.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray made on the life of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray was also released on the same day as of Manikarnika. It was released in two languages simultaneously – Hindi and Marathi. Though its Hindi version failed to do a good collection, its Marathi version has maintained a stronghold in Maharashtra. In the first seven days (1st week), it has earned Rs 35 cr (approx) collectively.

Co-directed by Krish and Kangana, the film also stars Ankita Lokhande, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Atul Kulkarni, Jissu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, and Danny Denzongpa among others. Upon its release, it got mixed reviews from the film critics, but audience appreciated the movie. Tomorrow (2nd Friday), its competition will increase as Anil and Sonam Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will release.

Speaking of the 7th day (Thursday) collection, Manikarnika registered a similar occupancy rate in the morning shows as of Wednesday. It will increase as the day passes. So, we can expect an early estimate collection of Rs 4 cr (approx). The exact figures will be updated post midnight.
