Oden without waiting for a moment anymore is expected to leave for the Kaido’s palace in this upcoming episode 970. He would probably carry his loyal Nine Red Scabbards also with him. Kaido might have foreseen about his arrival to his place. That is the reason he would go to face him in the middle of his journey to his palace.
At that time, Oden would also come to understand the harsh reality behind Orochi’s intentions because this guy told him a lie when he used to spend his life dancing naked in the streets for a time period of five years. We would also see Kaido disclosing the fact that they were currently facing a shortage of manpower.
They are likely to lose if Oden attacks them with the help of Hyogoro. Due to his deadly powers, sometimes, Kaido is also referred as a beast by the people. Kaido even in his dragon form does not seem to worry Oden much. This also implies that Oden might have already got an idea about the powers of his enemy Kaido.

The forces of Oden and Kaido would then finally face each other in the fierce war between them both. Though, Kaido’s army would clearly appear to outnumber that of Oden, but still, they didn’t seem to have the upper-hand at the battlefield.
The fight between Kaido and Oden lasted for hours. Through this, the only thing depicted was the limits of the powers of the Daimyo of Kuri. Also, Shinubo would prevent a hidden sniper from shooting down Oden.
At a time, one of attacks by Oden would actually injure Kaido. Even till this date, the scar from this wound has not disappeared.
After this, some unknown guy reached the same spot with Oden’s son being held as captive. It was the same scene when Kaido was being threatened by Oden to not to return to Wano ever again. When Oden was distracted by the sight of his child, Kaido took advantage of the moment and released an attack on the Daimyo.
This resulted in Oden losing his senses and fainting to finally fall on the ground. To our shock, that child was not actually Oden’s son. Rather, he was Kurozumi Higurashi who completely changed his appearance to look like Oden’s son with the help of a devil fruit that he had.
Through this scenario, we would also come to know that Kaido is not likely to face Oden reasonably without using any unfair means. Even though he is referred to as being one of the most powerful warriors out there, still he chooses to use false tricks to win his fights.
The Nine Red Scabbards too were beaten and held captive after Oden was knocked down. With the announcement of the execution of Oden and his companions by boiling them alive in a pot, the chapter finally reached its concluding end.
Momonosuke and the other detainees could be shown to succeed in escaping the place in the next upcoming chapter 971. We would also see if Oden was really executed by boiling alive in a pot or not and if so what would happen to his wife Toki and what would be her situation after Oden’s death.
