Saaho starring Prabhas has been creating havoc at the worldwide box office. In the first 4 days, Sahoo has made a collection of over Rs 300 cr (gross). The action-romantic movie opened to mixed reviews, mostly negative from the critics. But, audience have shown great interest in it.
Saaho has been shot in 3 languages – Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. But, it was released in five languages – being dubbed in Malayalam and Kannada. Trade expert Trinath has said that the film has performed on par with expectations. It has been able to do such a big business due to Prabhas’ superstardom.
Prabhas come to nation-wide limelight post success of Baahubali: The Conclusion. So far, the flick has performed very well as firstly it was the first weekend, then came partial holiday on Monday owing to Ganesh Chaturthi. Today, on Tuesday, it is just a normal working day.
Tuesday onwards, we will get to know where exactly the film is heading towards. Despite opening to awful reviews and mediocre word of mouth, the film has done a humongous business. Its Hindi version has done a collection of Rs 93.28 crores in the first four days. It collected Rs 24.40 cr on Friday, Rs 25.20 cr on Saturday, Rs 29.48 cr on Sunday, and Rs 14.20 cr on Monday.
Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho has been produced by UV Creations. The film was mostly shot abroad and made on a huge budget of Rs 350 crores (including salary, production, and advertising cost). It features some never seen before action scenes. It was majorly shot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Besides Prabhas, Saaho stars Shraddha Kapoor, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Mandira Bedi, etc. in important roles. This movie marked the debut of Shraddha in the South Indian cinema. In order to break even, the film should collect at-least Rs 600 crore owing to 30% entertainment tax and 30% distributors share.
Going by the trend, negative reviews by critics, and general talk by the neutral viewers, the task doesn’t seem easy. Just like other films, it also became a target/victim of online piracy. It was leaked and made available on various torrent websites on the internet. Its plot is similar to French thriller Largo Winch.

Speaking of 5th day of Saaho, the film has taken a slow start being a very normal working day of the week. The average morning occupancy was reported to be around 13-15%. On Monday, it was around 32%. The drop was expected as Monday was a partial holiday due to Ganesh Chaturthi.

It’s a drop of over 50% compared to yesterday. The film will touch the mark of Rs 100 cr (Hindi) today. It should be able to collect somewhere around Rs 10 cr on Monday (day 5).
