Simmba 6th Weekend Box Office Collection: Ranveer-Sara’s Film Crosses 240 Cr Mark In 37 Days

The Bollywood cop drama Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan has crossed the mark of Rs 240 crores at the Indian box office. Released on December 28, 2018, the film also stars Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, and Sidharth Jadhav. Made on a budget of 80 cr, it has already earned more than 400 cr worldwide. Garnering mixed review from the critics on its release, Simmba got the love of the audiences and began a great journey. After two weeks, Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal was release that slowed down its pace at the ticket counters. Despite stiff competition from Uri, Ranveer’s film continued its run.

Simmba continued to ring the cash registers. It is still running at some circuits. As per the latest updates, Simmba minted Rs 150.81 cr in its 1st week, Rs 61.62 cr in 2nd week, Rs 20.06 cr in 3rd week, Rs 6.19 cr in 4th week, Rs 1.20 in 5th week, and Rs 22 lakhs on 6th weekend. Thus, making its total collection to Rs 240.10 cr till now in India.

Already been registered as a blockbuster film, Simmba is still continuing its home run. Not only domestic but it has also fared well in overseas markets. It has already became the highest grosser movie for Rohit Shetty till date. Moreover, this flick is now Ranveer’s biggest solo in terms of collections.

Now, it is facing competition from later releases like Vicky’s Uri, Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray, Sonam Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga in Hindi circuits. Simmba was released a week after Shahrukh Khan’s Zero.

It has got phenomenal box office numbers. Though Simmba has already minted lots of money, it may not be able to cross the mark of 250 crores in its entire lifetime run as there is too much of a competition as of now. It has already become more than a month old and newer releases have come in as a result it has slowed down.

Simmba’s overseas gross collection stands at $13.65 million which converts to Rs 96.66 cr approx.

Uri has collected Rs 189.76 crores in its 24 days of run at the box office. Simmba has been produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions. It is the official remake of 2015 Telugu film ‘Temper’. Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy which is to be released on February 14, 2019, i.e., Valentine’s Day.
