A great dramatic and militant career

At a very young age, he became politically aware and became a member of Spain’s then clandestine Communist Party. His acting vocation also began early, specifically when he first took to the stage, but it wasn’t until he performed Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot three years later that he gained the prestige of critic.

He furthered his training at the Conservatory of Music and Declamation, and thanks to this career, he came into contact with Spanish Television (TVE), where he took part in soap operas and dramatic productions. In 1984 he appeared in Los Santos Inocentes, by Mario Camus, together with Alfredo Landa, Terele Pávez and Paco Rabal, and there he ended up consolidating himself in the world of cinema, and then also worked with characters such as Luis García Berlanga, José Luis Garci, María Barranc, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Jordi Dauder and Laia Marull, and was nominated a total of 9 times for the Goya Awards .
