Uri: The Surgical Strike has proved to be the first and biggest hit of 2019 yet. The Bollywood film is still on a run for more collection at the box office. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, the movie is still breaking records in its sixth week of run. It has beaten the 6th-week figures of Gadar, Badhaai Ho, and Baahubali 2.

Directed by debutant director Aditya Dhar, Uri has become the first film made on a budget of less than Rs 50 crore and having earned more than Rs 200 crore. It is still faring better than the later releases. Released on January 11, 2019, the flick is still doing good collections in its week 6. (Read: Gully Boy 5th Day Collection.)

As per the latest reports, Uri has successfully collected Rs 3.25 crore on its 38th day at the box office. With it, the film has made a total collection of Rs 6.95 crores on its 6th weekend. Speaking of its total business of 38 days, then it has minted around Rs 225.73 crores. It has already become the 11th highest grosser film ever.

In the first week, Uri collected Rs 71.23 crore, followed by Rs 62.76 cr in the second week, Rs 37.06 crore in the 3rd week, Rs 29.30 cr in the fourth week, and Rs 18.25 c r in the 5th week.

Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on a real-life incident that took place on September 29, 2016. In retaliation to the terrorist attack on the Uri base camp earlier that month, the Indian Army destroyed seven terror launchpads across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Aditya Dhar has not only directed the film, but he has also written the script for it. Ronnie Screwvala produced it under the banner of RSVP Movies. It was announced after one year of the surgical strike in September 2017. Besides Yami and Vicky, Uri also stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in important roles.

As 6th Monday is a regular working day, the fall in business is obvious. However, going by the trend, it is still going good. Uri should collect Rs 1 cr (approx) as its 39th day box office collection.
