The episode 307 of Fairy Tail anime will feature the continuing fight between Gray and Invel. By the end of FT #306, the latter reached in a comfortable position with casting Ice Lock on Gray and Juvia. The spell is a nasty one as it compels those caught to kill each other. (Check: Overlord Season 4.)
But, they resisted long enough to hurt themselves and didn’t let their mind succumb to Ice Lock. Invel got surprised to see the willpower of the duo. It forced him to let his guard down. As soon as the threat was over, the Winter General broke the duo out of their bondage and proceeded to hunt down Natsu.
While, he was leaving, Gray attacked him from behind. Invel got surprised seeing that Gray survived his supposed suicide. Then, Invel casted True-Ice Kamui. It resulted into the whole Winter General getting covered in ice armor. It can be described as ‘unholy’ as it froze everything and everybody, even those immune to ice.
Due to his vengeance, Gray shattered the ice armor as he molded it as his own. After that, he cast Ice Devil’s Zeroth Destruction Fist that granted him a pair of gauntlets with which he defeated Invel.
After Invel was defeated, the Winter General mocked Gray and told him that misfortune will continue to be there as long as Natsu is alive. The Spriggan told him that he can be beat and kill Natsu, not Zeref. Coming to Juvia, she would be fine. It looks that she will be out commission after this segment.
The arc has brought us action-packed sequences. It is difficult to completely go into deep in the grapping battle due to the animation quality. Many have already reported the same that the show isn’t what it used to be. In 2014, the show was at its Zenith.
