The season 3 of Bad Blood series will be coming next. The season 2 is now available for streaming on Netflix. True Crime has been an uprising since the mid 2010s. Its popularity quotient has increased manifold in the last few years. It’s because whatever is seen on TV has already taken place in the underworld. (Check: Rick and Morty Season 4 .)

The same decade has also seen numerous renewals in the criminal genre. Earlier, it just used to be the typical cop procedural, and massive number of astonishingly good and grand in both artistic merit and widespread popularity before the 90s. This decade, it has changed a lot.

In a sense, the genre has been flipped this decade. The crime dramas have made it to the headlines of tv tabloids. It shows the dramatic, the tragic, and the anti-hero side instead of a typical true crime investigative series. It’s kinda regeneration of the Godfathers and Goodfellas on the silver screen.

It all started with the award-winning neo-western dark horse Breaking Bad. As usual, Netflix was quick to recognize the earning potential and the increasing interest of the audience. Thus, the streaming giant picked up the genre and shows like Narcos came into inception.

Every such show that depict the criminal organization as its forefront and core figure has been at the service’s front. These, usually, virtually depict anti-heroes. The creators have been excellent in their craft, direction, and entertainment value despite of its morally dubious nature.

Such elements in the show has made it a more lucrative body of work. Just like the USA has Narcos, the UK has Peaky Blinders, the same way Canada has come into the fray with Bad Blood. It’s a show about the drug-trading network, syndicates, and the Montreal-based Rizzuto crime family.

The first season of Bad Blood premiered on September 21, 2017 on CityTV. Since then, it has got a total of two seasons.

Bad Blood Season 3 Cast: Who’s returning?

The producer and creator of the show is Simon Barry. Bad Blood has got a good list of star cast. The first season had Anthony LaPaglia as the patriarch of the Rizutto family. In the second one, the protagonist was Declan Gardiner, the second-in-command to Vito. Kim Coates played the character.

Much of the series’ cast is reasonably famous, but having most of the fans in Canada only. However, Kim Coates is Hollywood-famous. It’s because of his decades-long career on the big screen and a large amount of acting works which include films like Pearl Harbour, and shows like Sons of Anarchy.

Bad Blood has seen a change in the lead figure in the first two seasons. Kim Coates is expected to return for a third run of the show, and play an important character. Other cast include Louis Ferreira, Melanie Scrofano, and Ryan McDonald who will return to reprise their roles.

So far, there has been no official word on the casting. Thus, it’s an educated guess, for now. It is subject to change in accordance with their acting contracts. Not much information is available as of now.

Bad Blood Season 3 Plot: What is it about?

It’s a typical mafia drama adapted from the research of Peter Edwards and Antonio Nicaso. They compiled their research in the book titled “Business or Blood: Mafia Boss Vito Rizutto’s Last War”. It was upto the book for the first season only. By then, it was only planned as a miniseries.

The second installment deviated from the book’s contents as it featured the exploits and trials of Declane, Vito Rizzuto’s right hand and the chosen heir to the Rizzuto crime empire. The creative crew of the show has said that the third season would have more original plot.

Bad Blood Season 3 Release Date: When will it premiere?

The first season premiered on October 10, 2018 on Netflix. The second installment came on May 31, 2019. Both the seasons were positively received in both the USA and Canada. The actors did good jobs. In the third installment, there is a possibility of seeing the aftermath of what happened in the last one.

Going by its release history, the Bad Blood’s season 3 is expected to arrive around October 2019.
