Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 witnessed approximately the similar collection as Friday on its first Saturday at the box office. It collected Rs 24.75 crores on day 2 while it earned Rs 24.50 cr on its opening. Then, the latest Bollywood film crossed the mark of Rs 50 cr on Sunday.
The Prabhudeva directorial stars Salman, Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar, and Kiccha Sudeep in lead roles. In the first two days, the film minted over Rs 49.25 crores. The latest outing of Salman is facing drop in its business due to ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
On Sunday morning, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that he expects a turnaround on day 3. Due to the ongoing protests, the movie has faced an approximate loss of around Rs 10 crores in 2 days, he added. The flick has been released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Despite getting mixed reviews from both the critics and the movie-goers, the film got an excellent opening. Speaking of its 3rd day, Dabangg 3 saw an big increase in occupancy as far as the morning shows are concerned. It registered an average occupancy of 35-40% across India.
It is still being badly hurt in Uttar Pradesh, parts of NCR, Bihar, and some other parts in India. It’s sad but true. The numbers were around 25% on Friday and Saturday. The estimated loss on its first weekend collection is going to be around Rs 15-20 crores. The film has failed to take the advantage of initial weekend.
Despite hurdles, the third film in the Dabangg franchise has earned nearly Rs 50 crores. In the 1st weekend, Dabang 3 collection will touch the mark of Rs 80 crores. Still, there is Christmas festival left to earn more moolah. Clearly, the situation on Sunday is better than the first two days.
The film registered an increase in the afternoon shows, and the average occupancy registered was 60-65%. This is still a very big number as most of the films fail to achieve it. Moreover, it is due to the Salman Khan stardom. Still, there is huge law and order issue in the country. We hope it gets resolved soon.
