After two days, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’s two days total collection stands at Rs 41.50 cr. The film collected Rs 14.65 cr on Sunday and completely utilized the Republic Day & Sunday holiday. The Kangana Ranaut starrer has emerged out to be the clear winner on the extended first weekend as Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray was able to manage only Rs 8 cr, yesterday. Both the movies released on January 25, 2019, hoping to bank on the national holiday. Upon its release, the film starring Kangana got mixed reviews from the critics, but garnered majorly positive reviews for the lead actress’ performance. She got to become the director of the flick accidentally as Krish left the venture mid-way.

As per the reports, Manikarnica witnessed a remarkable growth on its 2nd day. It seems that strong word of mouth has come into play and Republic day holiday gave it the boost required. On 3rd day, there are expectations that the Manikarnika box office collection will be somewhere around it. It means that the film is going to see a very good first weekend collection.

The film is released in three versions – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Kangana’s film is released alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray, which is also a biopic. Despite the most anticipated box office clash, Manikarnika has turned out to be the preferred movie. It is getting huge footfalls in the theaters.

It has got a very big growth in the North Indian markets like Delhi and UP. But, it has somewhat under performed in Mumbai and South that is reasonable and was expected. Thackeray starring Nawazuddin is ruling the Maratha market.

Like Saturday, Manikarnika has started with a bang on Sunday (3rd day) as well. As far as morning shows occupancy is concerned, it has registered an average of 51-52% footfalls. It’s somewhat similar to yesterday’s, but a little drop. The film is likely to register more growth in the day time as today is also a holiday.

Despite getting an ordinary opening, the film has witnessed tremendous growth over the 1st weekend. Manikarnika is now towards a healthy collection. So far, the word of mouth has been reported positive, but the real thing will be known after Monday’s business.
