Are you excited for Santa Clarita Diet season 4? Is it going to happen? If so, when will the Netflix release? It has been one of the most undermined comedy shows on Netflix. SCD is a story about a real estate agent (Drew Barrymore) who becomes a zombie after eating some bad food.
Then, she and her husband are forced to kill humans in order to survive. It is evident that not always, things happen as per the plan. And, those are the points from where the spirals start to come in the plot. (Check: Game of Thrones Season 8.)
So, what do you think, what does it make stand out amongst all other comedy shows? It’s probably their smart humor. If audiences follows some absurd thing about a plot or a character development, the writers do lean towards it. In the real world, you can’t focus on every character in detail.
The showrunners have tried to give proper focus on as many characters as they can. That’s the reason why people were waiting eagerly for the season 3 when it arrived last year. But, now the question of the hour comes, will Santa Clarita Diet return for a fourth installment? It will be interesting to see.
Its renewal for season 4 hasn’t happened yet. Unfortunately, it’s not likely to happen. After the release of its third installment, the Netflix has canceled the show. Maybe, it is something that the fans should have expected.

Netflix has canceled one of its comedy shows – Santa Clarita Diet. Earlier, the season four was to released around the end of March 2020. But, it will not happen now. Going by the trend, Netflix happens to renew its shows in about a month or two after its latest installment releases.
That happens to give the streaming giant a proper time to make its season successful. Netflix got on the next level when it announced SCD season 2 even before the premiere of its first one in 2017. It continued to do the same with its following installment in 2018. But, that seem to be the end.
It’s because Netflix doesn’t see any more potential growth after three seasons. Usually, it cancels after three runs, keeping some exceptions aside being breakout hits such as House of Cards (HoC) and Stranger Things.
Santa Clarita Diet Season 4 Story Details
The third season 3 concluded most of the storyline of the previous ones. Annie left the picture and the Hammonds alone. Sheila and Joel don’t have anymore problems from the Kings of Serbia. The explosion at the fracking site….blew over. Mixing all of that, with all-new twists and turns could have set up an even stranger and stronger new season.
Going by the summary of season 3 of Santa Clarita Diet, Anne left the Hammonds alone. She still was able to convince a large chunk of people that Shiela ia a divine being. Joel has now become one of he Knights of Serbia. Hammonds don’t have any problem from Ron as he way trying to turn everyone into zombies.
On a happier note, Abby and Eric have decided to give a real shot on their relationship now. But, the biggest story that could have been developed in the next season of show be Mr Ball Lega crawling into Joel’s brain, through his ear canal, and apparently killing him. So, to save her husband, Shiela turned into a zombie.
It would have been interesting to see in what type of zombie, Joel would have been converted. It’s because Sheila has asked him to spend eternity with her. All of it would have been developed into an off-the-rails Santa Clarita Diet season 4.
