The filming for the next season has already started in Toronto in summer 2019. So, we are expecting to be able to watch the trailer earlier than expected. We may even get it by the end of this year. When it arrives, we may get to see a lot more bloodshed as a result of violence, and some super-powered kids as well.
The Boys Season 2 cast: Who’s going to return?
We are expecting most of the core cast members to return including favorites Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Erin Moriarty (Starlight) and Chace Crawford (The Deep). Some major characters may even return in flashbacks too. So far, only Aya Cash – a new addition has been confirmed.
Cash will play a super-powered neo-Nazi called Stormfront. She is going to portray a gender-flipped version of the hero in the show after swapping out the comedy of her show You’re the Worst for something far darker. As per the comics, Stormfront’s Aryan supremacist views put him into direct conflict with The Boys. So, we are expecting something similar in the TV adaption.
The Boys Season 2 release date: When is its premiere?
Though the shooting has already started, Amazon hasn’t announced an official premiere date for the season 2 yet. But, we already know that Amazon has a lot of faith in The Boys as it was renewed for a new season before the first one even aired. As the filming is underway, we can expect it to hit Amazon Prime in summer 2020.
The Boys Season 2 plot: What is going to happen?
The finale was a lot more explosive compared to what Translucent did in the end of episode 2. Butcher sought revenge against Homelander as she believed that he had raped her and driven her to suicide. In the final scene, we got to learn that Becca is actually alive, and raising the hero’s son in secret.
There will be ramifications to be seen in the season two. It will play a huge role, and may even turn Butcher’s world upside down even more than before. As the makers have deviated the show from the comics, we should get ourselves ready to see more of the unpredictable stories in the future episodes.
We are expecting to see Seven’s ongoing involvement with the military in the upcoming installment. There will be more super things to happen in the future. We are expecting Tek-Knight to be involved in something interesting or create an interesting counterpoint. He is a Batman rip-off and addicted to sex with everyone and everything.
