Good news! The Good Doctor has been renewed for season 3 as the ABC show has garnered good ratings for its previous installment. Until it releases, we have almost everything that everyone would want to know such as its release date, trailer, cast, episodes, etc. (Check: Final Fantasy VII Remake.)
It is expected to premiere in a few months on ABC in the US and Sky Witness in the UK. Probably, the complete cast will return and reprise their role in the upcoming season that sees Freddie Highmore playing Shaun Murphy and Antonia Thomas portraying Claire Browne on the screen.

As of now, there has been no official word on the season 3 premiere date for TGD. Going by its history, the first season premiered on September 25, Monday. The second installment released on September 24, Monday. Based on the release trend, we can expect it to start airing from September 23, 2019, Monday.
The earlier installment was ordered in March 2018, but this time, it was announced a bit earlier that that.
The Good Doctor season 3 cast: Who will return?
For now, ABC has not made the official announcement regarding the cast of the upcoming season. Of course, Freddie Highmore will be back for sure as he has to play Dr Shaun Murphy on the show. He is not going anywhere until and unless something goes wrong.
Other important cast and characters include Dr Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez), Dr Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas), and Allegra Aoki (Tamlyn Tomita). They are also expected to reprise their roles in the third series.
It can happen that we may not get to see more of Richard Schiff who plays Dr Aaron Glassman. It’s because he is constantly suffering from ill health. But, we don’t have heard any plans in this regards till now.
We would get to see Dr Jackson Han in the coming season as he as announced as the new head of surgery in the show. He has a grudge against Shaun.
What will happen in The Good Doctor season 3? Plot
Like other details, ABC has not officially unveiled anything about the plot of the third installment of the series. So, practically, anything happen on the show.
Although, one possible plotline would be Shaun trying to deal with the grief of losing his mentor and closest confidante Aaron. It may have been confirmed during an interview with Deadline. Richard told them that when he asked David Shore, the executive producer, was ‘will Dr Glassman die’?
To it, Shore replied and asked how come did he know that. Then, Richard said that there was some kind of a clue. So, then, Shore confirmed that he is going to die.
Another possible plotline could be Shaun trying to get his post back as he was demoted by Jackson.

There has been no promotional video promoting the next installment in the making so far.
The trailer for the second series was released in August 2018, just a month before the series starting airing. So, we may expect some kind of promo for the third series in August 2019.
