At box office, Uri: The Surgical Strike collection has been more in the 2nd weekend compared to the first three days as per the reports of trade expert Taran Adarsh. Vicky Kaushal’s military drama has surpassed all the expectations and calculations. It has wrecked havoc at the BO and isn’t going to slow down anytime soon. (check: Simmba collection.)

In the second weekend, Uri collected a total of Rs 37.96 cr which is Rs 2.23 crore more than the opening weekend. By the end of 10th day, the film’s collection has reached to Rs 108.90 crore. It looks like that it would soon emerge as the highest grossing medium budget film. It would surpass the lifetime collections of Tanu Weds Manu soon.

Besides Vicky, it stars Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal in important roles and is made on a budget of Rs 42 cr. Though fictionalized, Aditya Dhar has directed the flick based on the real incidents. Yesterday (second Sunday), the movie earned Rs 17.06 cr. In the first week, Uri minted Rs 70.94 cr and has already became a blockbuster hit film.

Dum Laga Kay Haisha (2015) and Queen (2014) were able to earn more in 2nd weekend than the first. However, they were doing in collections. But, Uri has managed to do it on good collections. It’s only a matter of time that it will cross the collections of Stree and Badhaai Ho as it is having a bigger reach than those movies.

It also stars Mohit Raina and has overshadowed the releases of this week including Emraan Hashmi’s Why Cheat India at the box office. WCI has received minimal growth and has earned only Rs 6.80 cr in the first weekend of its business. Taran referred it as “cut a sorry picture” at the ticket window. It got a lackluster start at the big screen.

Uri faced a drop of around 27% from 2nd Friday and collected Rs 6.7 cr on 11th day. Thus, its 11 days total box office collection stands at Rs 115 cr.

Emraan’s film is moving towards a flop status. Uri is based on the surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army in 2016. It is sure to cross the mark of 150 cr and if it manages to stay upright after the release of Manikarnika, then it might touch the figure of 175 cr. Stay tuned for more Uri box office updates.
