It’s no easy run for SRK’s Zero movie to continue its run from 11th day of release onwards. It’s because the film crashed out to cash in on its 2nd weekend of business at the box office. The mixed reviews from the critics and not-so-good word of mouth from the audiences had already made it difficult to run. (check: KGF 2nd Monday collection.)
The release of Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan worsened its run. Besides Shahrukh Khan, Zero stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a vertically challenged (dwarf) man who is seeking his life partner. First, he meets a scientist and then fell for a superstar.
The film has seen heavy downfall over the course of its second weekend. Released on December 21, it couldn’t carry the number expected from an SRK film. The directorial venture of Aanand L Rai was able to collect just Rs 1.25 cr on its 10th day in business making its 2nd weekend collection to Rs 3.10 cr. (check: Simmba Monday box office collection.)
The total collection of Zero for 10 days sits close to Rs 87.20 crores. ‘Zero’ also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chaddha, Jaipreet Singh, and Bijendra Kala in supporting roles. After Simmba’s release, the screen count of Zero has reduced to nearly 50%. It was released to over 4400 screens.

The film still has two days to earn some more money. After (2nd Wednesday), it won’t be able to earn much atleast from the domestic market as it has two strong and better competitors up and running very well. It looks like that it won’t be able to touch the mark of Rs 100 cr in its lifetime run.
