Zero has reached to its 4th/5th day of release at the box office. Let’s check out how much it has earned so far in the first four/five days on the big screen. Anand L Rai directorial Zero movie stars Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. It was a solo release on the BO on December 21, 2018, Friday. But, it wasn’t well received by the critics and audiences as expected. So, it seemed to have failed to cash the festive season of Christmas. (check: kgf 4 days collection.)
SRK’s latest Bollywood film received mixed reviews by the critics. One on hand, they liked the star performances. But, on the other hand, they did seem to be much influenced by its story. As a result, it didn’t the good word of mouth on the time of its opening. The very well known trade analyst Taran Adarsh has shared the collection figures on his twitter handle. (also: merry christmas pictures.)
There were huge expectations from the flick which Zero failed to deliver. On Friday, it earned Rs 20.14 cr. It is a big star film. So, it should have done much better as it has been made on a very big budget. On Saturday, it declined by 9.53% and was able to mint only Rs 18.22 cr. On Sunday (3rd day), the earnings increased as it was a holiday and made Rs 20.71 crores only. (check: merry christmas quotes.)
So, it collected Rs 59.07 crores over its first weekend at the box office. And it becomes clear that the film is struggling to perform and earn. Now, let’s come to today (Monday) business report. As per the reports, the occupancy report has dropped to 16% which was around 35% on its opening day (Friday). It is a general trend to see a drop on a working day, but this drop is steep.
Zero 4th day collection – Rs 10 cr ()
Zero box office collection – Rs 70 crores ()
Overseas – $5 million = Rs 35 cr
Total – 107 cr
Now, only a miracle can save/recover the investment of the distributors. It will be interesting to see how it fares tomorrow, i.e., on Christmas Day. If it fails to earn a big amount on December 25, then it would most likely head outright for a flop. SRK’s last three films, FAN, Raees, and Jab Harry Met Sejal (JHMS) have failed to recover the distribution costs.
Zero 5th day collection – Rs 15 cr (early estimates)
SRK’s film has shown a decent growth on the big holiday, but it wasn’t that great. The average occupancy for the day was recorded to be 40-45%. Let’s see for the updated report soon.
