Salman Khan’s latest Bollywood film Dabangg 3 witnessed an increase on its first Sunday, yesterday. In the opening 3 days, it has made a collection of over Rs 81.15 cr at the box office. On Sunday, it collected Rs 31.90 crores. It opened very well on Friday and continued the same momentum on Saturday.
On Friday, Dabang 3 had earned Rs 24.50 cr, followed by Rs 24.75 crores making its 2 days total collection to Rs 49.25 cr. Despite protests, the third film in the Dabangg franchise has performed outstandingly. All the credit goes to the superstardom of Salman Khan. Still, it has faced a loss of around Rs 15 crores due to CAA.
As of now, Dabangg3 is enjoying a splendid run at the BO. But, it is nowhere to Salman’s previous film Bharat, which was released in June 2019. It had collected Rs 42.30 cr on its opening day. Bharat (2019) made Rs 325.58 crores worldwide in its lifetime run. Dabangg 3 should cross the mark of 200 cr soon.
Prabhudeva directorial stars Salman reprising the role of Police Inspector Chulbul Pandey, debutant Saiee Manjrekar as his first love interest, Sonakshi Sinha as his wife – Rajjo. Saiee is the real daughter of actor Mahesh Majrekar, and he is playing Sonakshi’s father in the film.
The first film in the franchise was released 2010. It was widely appreciated and loved for its content, and loving Chulbul Pandey with his innocence. Dabangg 2 was made with similar content. But, Dabangg 3 is being criticized for over-stretching the role of Chulbul. And, his innocence has been replaced with cheeky and unsavory dialogues.
As the Christmas holiday season is approaching, the box office collection of Dabangg 3 will increase for sure. After that, an imminent winter break is around the corner which is expected to boost the Dabangg 3 collections. But, there is a news to be concerned. Akshay Kumar starrer Good Newwz is releasing next week.
It will pose a tough competition for Dabang starring Salman. Good Newwz releases on December 27, 2019. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani in important roles. Speaking of 4th day of Dabangg 3, it registered an average occupancy of 15-20% as far as the morning shows are concerned.
- Dabangg 3 4th Day Collection – Rs 10 cr (estimated)
It was 25% on Friday, so the drop is around 30%. Moreover, the ticket prices will also drop today. Thus, the overall business drop will be a considerable one. We are expecting it to earn around Rs 15 crores today. The word of mouth is also mixed. So, we will be able to get an idea about its lifetime collections after the end of Christmas season.
