Ford India has launched a new special edition model for the Aspire subcompact sedan. It is named as the Ford Aspire ‘Blu’ Edition. The car has been made available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant’s prices start at Rs 7.50 lakh, while the diesel model is priced at Rs 8.30 lakh, both ex-showroom (Delhi).
The all-new Blue edition of Aspire is similar to the top-spec Titanium Blue variant. It comes with a blacked-out roof, sporty decals, new absolute black grille, alloys, and blue-themed interior. The newer one is based on a level lower Titanium variant which costs Rs 25,000 less than Blu trim. Speaking of the exteriors, the Aspire Blu sports a shade of silver, with black treatment for the grille, 15-inch alloys, roof and ORVMs. It has got the bright blue streak along with the C-shaped design on the bumper as on the Figo.
However, the rear section has black decals on the boot lid with the ‘Blu’ lettering. The Aspire Titanium Blue edition also has the all-black interior contrast blue highlights on the inner door handles and the Blue branding on the black fabric upholstery.
Coming to its features, it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view camera, remote central locking, automatic air-conditioner and power windows among others.
Its safety features includes dual airbags and ABS with EBD among others. Being based on the Titanium trim, it comes with two air-bags only.
The Ford Aspire Blu edition has a petrol variant of 1.2 litre three cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon family. It makes 95 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It return a mileage of 20.4 kmpl.
The diesel variant gets 1.5 litre four cylinder oil burner that makes 99 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque. It is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It gives a mileage of 26.1 kmpl.
In the compact sedan segment, the Aspire, and the new special edition Blu variant, rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo and Honda Amaze.
