The prison is specifically made to hold female inmates. We don’t know as to why Grace has been refused to attend the funeral service of her maternal grandmother. Inmates are given special privileges based on their cases. The cases matter and differ by their nature. The special privileges allow them to attend their loved ones’ funeral services, etc.

Naomi Judd’s granddaughter Grace Kelley has got a review parole hearing to attend in December 2022. At the same time, her release date has been scheduled for April 1, 2024.

Last time, police arrested her in April 2020 as Grace violated a probation related to a 2016 meth case. As a result, the courts were forced to sentence her to eight years in prison at that time. So, it’s because of her crimes that she won’t be able to attend her grandmother’s funeral.

Legal Troubles of Grace Kelley: Explained

Naomi Judd’s granddaughter’s legal troubles started when she was still a teenager. Police arrested Kelley for the first time on June 14, 2016. In May 2017, the trial happened, and she confessed to the crime of manufacturing, delivery, and possession with intent to sale. So, she was sentenced by two separate Tennessee counties for a total of 11 months and 29 days in jail.

After pleading before the courts, the Williamson County and Maury County came to an agreement of suspending the sentence after 30 days serving behind the bars, and then to continue on probation. As a result, Grace was released by the Williamson County Detention Center on June 16, 2017. But, she had to undergo a drug program ordered by the honorable court.

But, in 2018, Naomi’s granddaughter didn’t respect the court orders, and broke the probation. So, the Tennessee court ordered her to serve a sentence of eight years in prison. However, she was again granted parole in November 2019, and got released five years early.
