One Indian Army Major was killed in a blast in Rajouri that lies in Jammu and Kashmir near Line of Control (LoC). As per the sources, he was trying to diffuse Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Nowshera sector.
It is being said that the IED was implanted by some terrorist organization. The officer is from the Corps of Engineers. The IED was planted 1.5 kms inside the Line of Control in the Naushera sector of Rajouri district in J&K.
Besides the death of a Major rank Army officer, a solider also have suffered injuries today while defusing the IED. The intruders from Pakistan planted the explosives.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Anand, the explosion on Saturday took place at around 3pm. The officer and the soldier were out on patrol. They had spotted freshly-dug soil on the dirt track.
It is a common modus operandi adopted by Pakistan-based terrorists to target Indian security forces deployed along the border. On January 11, 2019, a similar blast engulfed the life of two Army personnel, including a major, in Nowshera.
This incident happened just 48 hours after more than 40 CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel were killed in the worst terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Jaish-e-Mohammed took its responsibility. Adil Ahmad Dhar was the suicide bomber who ran an SUV into the convoy.
Following the attack, the Indian government has decided to take all possible diplomatic actions to ensure complete isolation of Pakistan. It has also decided to withdraw ‘Most Favored Nation’ status to the country.
Moreover, the Government of India has urged the international community to back the naming of Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar as a UN designated terrorist. But, China hasn’t still noded in a positive manner yet.
