Rajinikanth’s Petta and Ajith’s Viswasam both films have been faring well at the box office. Here’s how much collection these movies have made so far. Rajinikanth starrer Petta has been successfully in dominating Ajith starrer Viswasam at both domestic and overseas level. The former has crossed the mark of Rs 150 cr mark while the latter has collected more than Rs 125 cr. (check: Uri 9th day collection.)

In the first week, Viswasam collections reached Rs 1.20 cr at the UK box office while Petta has grossed more than twice its value. It has earned Rs 3.06 crore in the first seven days of release. Rajinikanth’s film may have proven an upper hand in the overseas market, but Ajith’s film has surpassed Petta the ticket sales in Tamil Nadu.

Both the movies have been doing reasonably well in all the overseas arena whether it’s USA, UK, Canada, France, UAE, GCC, Sri Lanka, Malaysia or Singapore. Petta has minted Rs 75 cr at the Tamil Nadu box office while Viswasam has collected Rs 86 cr in the home state. Despite being released only in Tamil, Viswasam has dominated the France BO.

Rajinikanth’s film has entered the Rs 10 cr club in Chennai and become All-Time Top 10 in Chennai city. With this flick, Rajinikanth has got the most number of entries in the Rs 10 cr club in the city. Petta is way ahead of Viswasam and still leading the global box office. This latest film of Ajith has surpassed the collections of Vivegam, his last movie, in just a week.

For Rajinikanth, Petta has become the fourth film to enter the $2 million mark at the US box office as well as surpassed the earnings of 2010’s Enthiran (Robot) in the said turf. Moreover, it has made its place in the top 10 biggest films at Chennai BO. Both the films were released on the same date – 10th January 2019.
