Tanhaji Box Office Collection: Ajay Devgn’s latest Bollywood film Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior has created havoc at the BO. In the first 12 days, it has made a collection of over Rs 183.34 crores. It is Ajay’s 100th movie of the career and will enter the coveted club of Rs 200 crore.
Yesterday, i.e., on day 12 (2nd Tuesday), it collected Rs 7.72 crores. The film’s second week day wise collection is as follows: Rs 10.06 cr on Friday, Rs 16.36 cr on Saturday, Rs 22.12 cr on Sunday, Rs 8.17 cr on Monday, Rs 7.72 cr on Tuesday. The flick is running pretty well at the domestic market.
Tanhaji will become the highest grosser for Ajay. It will soon overtake his current highest grossing film Golmaal Again which released in 2017 and collected Rs 205 cr in India in its entire lifetime. Tanaji will also become his 5th consecutive film to enter the Rs 100-cr club. It was released alongside Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone which has earned Rs 32.48 cr in 12 days.
The lead actor also hosted a special film screening for Army Chief, Navy Chief, and Air Force Chief of the nation. The three of them praised the movie for which Ajay thanked them via a tweet.
The film is about the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Subedar Tanaji Malusare. In an historical event, he sacrified his life while reclaiming the Sinhagad Fort from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s forces. He fought for Bhagwa (saffron) flag, Swaraj (home-rule), and Satya (truth).
Besides Ajay, the Om Raut directorial also stars Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. Kajol portrayed the character of Tanhaji’s wife Savitribai while Saif played the anatagonist Udaybhan. While speaking, Saif landed himself in a major controversy when he was asked to comment on the political subtext of the film.

Tanhaji might create history in its third week as the film is trending. However, there are two major release coming in this Friday – Street Dancer 3D and Panga. But, looking at the Tanhaji’s trend, they shouldn’t become any major concern for its success.

Speaking of day 13 of Tanaji, it registered an average opening of 15% as far as the morning shows are concerned. There seems to be no major drop compared to yesterday same timeframe and segment. It will register a minimal drop.
In its lifetime run, it should cross the mark of Rs 250 crores. It is unbelievable as its opening day was just good not extraordinary.
