Shahrukh Khan starrer Zero has slowed down much in the last few days. It’s its 13th day of business at the box office. In the first 12 days, Zero’s collection has reached close to Rs 90 crores. It showed its best growth on the new year’s day and collected Rs 1.25 cr (on 12th day). As a matter of fact, the film is already out with audiences preferring Simmba and KGF. Besides SRK, Zero stars Anushka Sharma as the scientist and Katrina Kaif as a celebrity. The film is said to be the most expensive Bollywood venture of Shahrukh. But, it has clearly failed to impress both the critics and the audiences. The movie directed by Aanand L Rai got mixed reviews and not-so-good word of mouth from the audiences.
Both the reasons have led to its crash at the box office. On 11th Day (Sunday, Zero earned just Rs 80 lakhs as per the report of BoxOfficeIndia. After getting negativity from both the sides for a film made on a massive budget of Rs 200 crore, it faced competition from Yash’s KGF and Ranveer’s Simmba. Released on December 21, it has grossed Rs 148 crores.
Simmba, which was released a week after Zero, has grossed Rs 115.31 crores in India. Zero has earned somewhere near Rs 90 crores from its day of release in India. This figure doesn’t justify the standards which Khan’s movies have set over the last couple of years. Moreover, it also stars some of the biggest names in Bollywood along with a number of cameos from stars like Salman, Juhi, Karishma, Alia, Deepika, Kajol, Sridevi, Rani, etc.
Zero 13th day collection – Rs 50 lakhs (early estimates)
The maximum it collected was on its first Sunday when it made Rs 20.71 crores. The film revolves around a vertically challenged man named Bauua Singh. He is in search for a potential bride. First, he meets Aafia suffering from cerebral palsy. Then, he got in touch with superstar Babita Kumari. His life faces a twist of fate.
Besides the lead star cast, Zero also stars Zeeshan, Tigmanshu, and Sheeba in important roles. It looks like that film is heading towards its lifetime business of Rs 97-98 cr. Crossing the mark of Rs 100 cr won’t be an easy task for it.
