The Flash has been renewed for a season 6. In 2019, the Arrowverse is going to change drastically. It’s because Arrow season 8 will be the last of the series and will only contain a total of 10 episodes. It will premiere in September/October 2019 based on its history and release schedule. The season 6 of Flash will air along with the other Arrowverse shows. However, the exact release date is not known yet.
When it returns, the show credits will be a little different than usual. Todd Helbing seems to be stepping down as the showrunner as he has lots of new projects for Warner Bros. He has been the part of the show since its inception, and will be replaced by Eric Wallace.
Wallace is not new to the Flash family as he has been an executive producer since the fourth season. He has written several key Flash’s episodes. It kind of seems to be a good idea as the last two seasons of Flash have received mixed reviews from both the fans and the critics. So, a change in leadership may turn out to be a good idea.
The Flash Season 6 Plot: What’s the story?
Nothing is known except that there will be crisis in the future. The exact plot is to be unveiled yet. However, Helbing said that it’s kinda foreshadowed. He added that they have been dropping Easter eggs especially from the back half of the season.
Well, yeah, we have known that The Flash has been headed towards a mysterious future event in which Barry disappears. We got to see some part of the post-Flash future in the episode titled ‘Godspeed’ that was the origin story of XS, Barry’s superhero daughter. After years of build-up, it seems to be becoming a reality now.
Besides all of the above, the team Flash is going to be through their greatest shakeup since season 1. Carlos Valdez is leaving the show. So, Cisco won’t be a part of it after the fifth installment finale. The change in the team’s dynamics will introduce new limitations.
Crisis on Infinite Earths in The Flash Season 6
As known from the comics, it’s the epic Multiverse event in which Barry Allen sacrified himself to save the world. It seems to be the imminent event in the life of Barry. There have been ominous warnings about impending disappearance in 2024. But, time seems to have been changed somehow, and the Crisis is taking place in 2019, five years ahead of time.
Reverse-Flash will be a key character in the season 6 of the Flash. In one of the newspapers from the future, we could read describing him ‘leading an army of shadow demons. In short, the fifth installment was basically about how Eobard Thawne escaped from Death Row. It sets him up for the required role.
